Respiratory Account Exec
About the role
As a Respiratory Account Executive (RAE), you will serve as a dynamic outside sales and marketing representative calling on physician offices, hospitals, and post-acute care providers in a specific territory to secure patient referrals. Your focus will be on Respiratory Equipment and Supplies, including Ventilation, Vests, Oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP, and any other durable medical equipment, supplies, and services prioritized by the VP of Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Execute strategic planning and selling to referral sources, including pre-call planning and structured sales calls (opening, probing questions, presenting benefits, closing).
- Become an expert on core products: Respiratory Equipment and Supplies such as Ventilators, Vests, Oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP, and related equipment.
- Meet monthly sales goals and quotas to maximize commission and drive company revenue.
- Identify and evaluate top referral sources (hospitals, home health agencies, physicians) in your territory to increase patient referrals.
- Call on a minimum of 8 to 10 referral sources per day to establish relationships, set up in-services, and seek patient referrals.
- Maintain excellent organization, follow-up, communication, negotiation, and listening skills.
- Deliver presentations to physicians, home health agencies, and hospitals about core products and services.
- Complete administrative duties, including expense reports, weekly conference calls, emails, monthly sales meetings, billing documentation, and follow-up.
- Provide organizational excellence through dedication, quality, and outstanding customer service.
- Understand the durable medical equipment (DME) and supply industry, analyze pharmacology products, and apply training on healthcare trends, laws, regulations, and market conditions.
- Use DME products, insights, and data to identify and prioritize business opportunities and offer solutions to physician clients.
- Allocate resources to meet customer needs, monitor performance, and adjust plans in real time.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of disease states, products, and competitor products through training and in-service.
- Communicate complex technical information effectively and expand knowledge in these areas.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, medical groups, hospitals, and others in the patient care continuum.
- Foster team effectiveness through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Drive market share growth and maximize sales performance for approved patients and indications.
- Understand the managed healthcare industry, including reimbursement, State Medicaid programs, medical benefits, and contracting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the regional sales manager.
- Adhere to all SuperCare Health company policies.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited high school (bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or natural science preferred).
- Knowledge of Healthcare DME, Ventilation, Vests, Oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, and respiratory supplies.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing of home healthcare and/or post-acute care (industry sales highly desirable).
- Understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other insurance rules and regulations.
- Excellent written and oral communication, executive presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding analytical, sales, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize and address the needs and concerns of others to build constructive working relationships.
- People-sensitive characteristics, patience, caring behavior, positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Active participation in professional healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, work cooperatively, and exhibit leadership.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven.
- Ability to function independently with minimal direction and optimize work time.
Physical Effort
Lifting and loading of equipment into and out of delivery vehicles and patient homes. Minimum physical requirement: ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
