About the role
The position is responsible for checking day-to-day accounting work by the payable team members and grant management of the project, under the guidance and supervision of AGM-Finance & Accounts.
Responsibilities
- Provide necessary training and technical assistance to team members in the areas of finance, administration and human resource management.
- Analyse expenditure on a monthly basis and present the variance report to the team during the monthly review and planning meeting, and provide directions for programme planning and expenditure.
- Conduct Supportive Monitoring Visits (SMV), as well as reviewing financial reports and data on a periodic basis.
- Undertake day-to-day accounting work (including maintenance of books of accounts), payments processing and related documentation work.
- Track cash inflow and outflow of the project fund including the same in the Sub-recipient Partners, timely release of funds, and preparation of various financial reports and MIS.
- Ensure strict adherence to all donor and statutory compliances and organizational policies and systems.
- Support, manage and coordinate project grant audits, statutory audits, other audits and donor reviews on an ongoing basis.
- Support in developing and submission of the donor and government stakeholder financial report as per the timelines.
- Undertake other activities and responsibilities as required by the project and the organization.
Qualifications
- CA Inter, CA Final Year, Graduation / Post-graduate degree in Commerce or Financial Management from a recognized University.
- Minimum 2 years' working experience in the NGO or profit making sector and engaged in financial management, sub-grants management and administration.
Skills
- Proven ability of overseeing financial management.
- Proven ability in interfacing with donors and grantees.
- Experience in conducting supporting monitoring visits and financial data validation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Sound computer skills, including use of Internet and MS Office™ software and latest version of Tally accounting package.
- Analytical capabilities to prepare various financial reports and financial data analysis as required by the donor and the organizational management.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment.
