Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
- Experience: Minimum one year of acute care experience in Maternal Child Services, or equivalent required.
- Licenses: Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
- Certifications: BLS required upon hire. NRP, PALS, and ACLS required within six months of hire. STABLE preferred.
- Computer / Typing: Possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Nature and Scope
- The Maternal Child Resource RN provides optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients and families.
- The Maternal Child Resource RN coordinates care between other professionals and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- The Maternal Child Resource RN must exercise judgment and make decisions in professional nursing practice that is congruent with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
- The Maternal Child Resource RN works in the maternal child module which includes Pediatrics, PICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, NICU, and Post Partum.
- Per diem Maternal Child Resource RNs may float to the Pediatrics, PICU, NICU, and Post Partum departments.
