Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Resource RN, you will provide diverse professional nursing services, delivering quality patient care, regulatory requirements, and nursing scope of practice. You are responsible for collaboratively developing, implementing, and assessing patient care plans. Every day you will directly engage in patient care, utilizing critical thinking to assess, plan, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the patient care team. You will continuously educate patients, families, and staff, implementing interventions for optimal outcomes and managing issues in a physician's absence. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate accountability for care quality, with authority to direct care and utilize resources efficiently, including comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients. Conducts care assessments and interprets assessment data to determine care needs and constraints in meeting these needs. Successfully completes system-based and hospital specific competencies. Maintains accurate documentation of observations, treatments, teaching, medications, care given, patient response, and integrates into plan of care. In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering care to the patient. Implements a plan of care based upon established standards of care/practice, policies, and procedures, incorporating cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related issues. Possesses knowledge of medications, and administers safely and accurately. Appropriately delegates and supervises routine technical functions to non-licensed and licensed personnel.
Job Requirements
- Diploma Of Nursing Graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing and 1-3 years
- Minimum one year of experience as an RN in an acute care facility, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days
- Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months

Saint Joseph East also includes the Women's Hospital at Saint Joseph East which is dedicated to supporting the well-being of women in Central and Eastern Kentucky and serves a 16-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Pay Range
$30.00 - $43.50 /hour
