Resource Nurse

About the role

Employees in this classification are responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in a specialty or subspecialty outpatient clinic as assigned from the resource nurse pool. This job to be used in Resource Nurse pool only.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, perform assessments, and monitor patients’ health conditions to ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Clinical Observation: Identify and report changes in patient conditions, contributing to problem identification and the development of patient care goals.
  • Medical Procedures Support: Prepare and operate essential medical equipment for procedures, examinations, and treatments.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient assessments, interventions, and medication administration in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with health care providers and correctional staff to ensure coordinated care in a secure environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health care policies, safety standards, and regulations, including proper medication storage and direct observation protocols.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in medical emergencies, triage patients, and provide immediate care when necessary.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized program of nursing.
  • One to two years of experience are preferred in a hospital, clinic or community based setting.
  • Certification in the state of Texas as a Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
