Responsibilities
- Determine the safest, most efficient way to dispatch employees and/or equipment to project sites.
- Receive and manage incoming service requests (internal and external) to dispatch appropriately trained staff for the assignment.
- Answer and manage incoming calls and dispatch employees with appropriate skills or certifications to precise locations at necessary times.
- Prioritize projects and manage logistics (equipment, internal logistics) according to urgency and importance, utilizing negotiation skills when conflicts arise.
- Relay information and instruction to employees, their managers, labs, and other project stakeholders (internal employees, clients, contractors, etc.) as appropriate.
- Maintain communication with field units to coordinate and prioritize schedules day-to-day as the hub for the department or office.
- Dispatch in an incident and injury-free manner consistent with Terracon’s guidelines, prioritizing the care and concern of employees.
- Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders.
- Use materials dashboard, CMELMS, and other tools to effectively distribute employees and balance workload.
- Perform other office duties as needed and work with others to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate between other regional offices to cover projects.
- Manage resource conflicts among employees, clients, and office/regional leadership team using negotiation strategies.
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects; perform pre-task planning prior to executing work.
- Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
- Ability to use technology (mobile apps, email, scheduling software, etc.).
- Time management skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Interpersonal interaction skills.
- Multi-lingual preferred in some markets.
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in project management, business management, or human resources.
- IIF Safety Leadership Terracon course obtained within 1 year in role.
- Complete Terracon Resource Manager training within 1 year in role.
