Hourly Rate: $18.00/Hour
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in outdoor education, recreation, environmental science, education, or a related field preferred
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within 6 months from the date of hire
- Experience with overnight programs, outdoor programs, residential camp environments or related outdoor/conservation experience
- Two (2) years of related experience, especially in a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with the school’s outdoor education program preferred
- Knowledge of SEL (Social Emotional Learning) Core Competencies and application strategies encouraged
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, ages and sensitivity to each individual student's needs as well as the ability to appreciate the variety of perspectives offered by individual viewpoints, disciplines and cultural understandings
- Proven leadership and individual, class, small and large group management skills and ability to lead activities in a variety of settings
- Demonstrated proficiency using Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Primary Duties
- Support the Outdoor Education Department with both on-campus programs and off-campus/overnight experiences
- Aid in planning, preparing, and facilitating engaging, age-appropriate outdoor learning and recreational activities
- Promote student safety, well-being, and skill development through active supervision and positive role modeling
- Help maintain accurate program records, manage gear and supplies, and ensure campsites and learning areas remain organized and clean
- Support risk management efforts, including emergency procedures, behavioral guidance, and program safety protocols
- Collaborate with the coordinator on logistics, scheduling, and continuous improvement of Outdoor Education programs
