Work Type: Full-time, year-round hourly position. Schedule: 40 hours per week with days off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Must be available for after-hour emergency calls. CPO certification preferred. Robust benefits are eligible for this position.
About the Role
Supports the facilities technician team with knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance. Enhances the property work environment, responds to guest repair requests, and communicates with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Visually inspects tools, equipment, or machines and carries necessary equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
- Identifies, locates, and operates all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
- Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicates daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
- Displays basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Performs surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and clean-up of work areas.
- Tests, troubleshoots, and performs basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components (e.g., lamps, switches, outlets), and guest room items.
- Programs TVs and performs general housekeeping and technician-related inventory duties.
- Uses the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Performs repairs on interior/exterior landscaping and external sprinklers.
- Displays basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
- Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; completes safety training and certifications.
- Follows company policies and procedures, maintains professional appearance, and protects company assets.
- Welcomes and acknowledges guests, addresses service needs, and assists individuals with disabilities.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships, supports team goals, and listens to concerns.
- Complies with quality assurance and standards; performs other reasonable duties as requested.
Key Duties
- Addresses guests' service needs professionally and promptly, using clear and friendly communication.
- Actively listens and responds to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
- Responds to guest complaints promptly; escalates unresolved issues to management.
- Cleans technician areas as directed and looks for ways to conserve energy.
- Maintains and tracks inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed.
- Logs, tracks, and interprets readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices.
- Assists in compiling data for preventive maintenance inspection records.
- Performs general housekeeping and inventory duties related to the technician role.
Safety and Accident Prevention
- Follows company and department safety policies to promote a secure environment.
- Completes safety training and certifications for assigned tasks.
- Follows procedures for safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
- Adheres to Hazardous Material Management Program procedures, including MSDS guidelines.
- Uses proper equipment, PPE, and lifting procedures to avoid injury.
- Identifies and corrects unsafe work conditions or reports them to management.
- Maintains proficiency in fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.

Physical Demands
- Visually inspects tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
- Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Moves, lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Uses computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
- Reads and verifies information in various formats, including small print.
- Stands, sits, or walks for extended periods or an entire work shift.
- Moves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.; or one to three months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical trade or vocational school degree.
- CPO certification preferred.
