Resin Handler

PURPOSE

To ensure correct Resin blends are delivered to each line through the resin delivery system.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and support all Company safety, GMP and HACCP Policies
  • Housekeeping in and around rail cars and silos
  • Trouble shoot when problems occur
  • Hook up railcar to correct silo and pump railcar
  • Wear fall protection gear when getting on top of rail cars to open Hatches
  • Clean filter system
  • Read silo reports daily
  • Knowledge of resins and additives
  • Able to use computers
  • Able to drive a forklift and pallet jack
  • Able to unload railcars
  • Responsible for conducting weekly silo inspections
  • Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.

  • Safety Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines including wearing mandatory PPE in production areas.
  • Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and maintains a clean work environment.
  • Experience High school diploma/GED, equivalent, or previous manufacturing experience.
  • Language Skills Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Mental Skills Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying, division, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work around moving machinery or electricity requiring a high level of safety awareness.
  • Employee is required to work with various hand tools and must be able to wear a Appropriate PPE.
  • Employee may be required to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted while performing job duties; push or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Employee may reach, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 66% of the work shift.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
  • An essential part of this position is to work in a teamwork environment.
  • The employee is constantly exposed to temperature variances; extreme heat during the Spring and Summer and cold temperatures during the Winter.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often subjected to changing priorities, time pressures and constraints, and high level of job-related stress.
