About the role

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa is seeking Residential Treatment Counselors to provide care and assistance to children in a residential behavioral healthcare program.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard and nurture children through daily living activities.
  • Engage children in activities that teach respect, responsibility, and social interactions.
  • Supervise children during transportation and appointments.
  • Maintain a safe and structured therapeutic environment.
  • Communicate therapeutically with children based on their needs.
  • Accurately assess and adjust daily routines and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Duties

  • RCC: 411100 (Full time) $18.63 hourly - High School Diploma, 21+ years old, 2 years driving experience.
  • RTC I: 411000 $19 hourly - High School Diploma, 1 year experience with children or special populations.
  • RTC II: 430000 $19.50 hourly - High School Diploma, 18 months experience with children or special populations, 6 months internal experience as RTC, 2 years driving experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than three (3) points on record.
  • RCYCP certification within 6 months of employment (Genesis Unit only).

Skills & Abilities

  • Use the CARE model for interactions and support.
  • Responsive, tolerant, and insightful communication with children.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Accurate assessment and documentation.
  • Active listening and crisis response skills.
  • Utilize or learn computer systems for position functions.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Moves objects up to 50 pounds. Works in a medium work setting.
