About the role
Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa is seeking Residential Treatment Counselors to provide care and assistance to children in a residential behavioral healthcare program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist children in daily living activities.
- Serve as a positive role model and engage children in activities teaching respect, responsibility, and social interactions.
- Ensure adequate supervision of children during transportation and appointments.
- Maintain a safe and structured therapeutic environment.
- Use therapeutic communication and adjust schedules, routines, and activities based on assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Specific Duties
- RCC: 411100 (Full time) $18.63 hourly - High School Diploma, 21+ years old.
- RTC I: 411000 $19 hourly - High School Diploma, 1 year experience with children or special populations.
- RTC II: 430000 $19.50 hourly - High School Diploma, 18 months experience with children or special populations, 6 months internal experience as RTC.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
- Minimum of 3 points on driving record.
- RCYCP certification within 6 months of employment (Genesis Unit Only).

- Use CARE model for interactions and support.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Able to assess and document information accurately.
- Active listening skills.
- Ability to apply effective interventions within therapeutic goals.
- Quick response to crisis situations.
- Teamwork and computer skills (basic computer, web browsing, online training, email usage).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Moves objects up to 50 pounds. Works in a medium work environment with occasional exposure to hazards.
