Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure consistency with New Horizons' policies, philosophy, and procedures.
- Support facility personnel.
- Interview, orient, evaluate, train, and supervise program staff.
- Provide clinical services for kids in care.
- Monitor services provided for individuals, groups, and families.
- Lead the treatment team in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Ensure relevant information is provided to direct care staff for appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Educate staff on childcare standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain staff up-to-date with required training.
- Manage rapport with monitoring agents and coordinate investigations/inspections.
- Aid therapists and clinical director with continued stays, discharges, and placements.
- Ensure kids live in a safe environment and are supervised according to New Horizons' policies and standards.
- Model professionalism and positive behavior for kids, staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
- Maintain professional growth and manage staff to improve individual competency.
- Ensure required documentation and paperwork are completed according to New Horizons' and state standards.
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage.
Qualifications
- Possess a Master’s Degree (preferred but not required).
- Have a thorough understanding of residential child-care operations and related support functions.
- Be a Licensed Child-Care Administrator or be eligible to become one.
- Have at least five (5) years of experience in residential child-care treatment with direct supervision and development of Direct Care Staff.
- Show strong leadership, effective communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Have extensive experience with crisis intervention.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer with discretion and independent judgment.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the position, including considerable walking.
- Good hearing to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately.
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to respond to dangerous situations involving kids.
