Residential Program Recovery Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, resident-centered support to help residents achieve recovery goals.
• Aid in medication administration in accordance with program policies.
• Facilitate individual and group recovery support sessions, including non-clinical self-help groups.
• Model and teach grounding, coping, and healing strategies.
• Support residents in developing life skills such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, housekeeping, and time management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and supportive facility environment.
• Help residents manage schedules, appointments, and daily routines.
• Guide residents in creating and updating their Recovery Plans.
• Encourage healthy lifestyle habits and positive decision-making.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program improvement.
• Complete daily documentation, incident reports, and other required records accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with staff during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with housekeeping and food preparation as needed.
• Provide transportation and accompany residents to appointments or activities.
• Assist with crisis intervention when necessary.
• Support a team-oriented approach to household management and program operations.

Qualifications

• Bilingual/Bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Strong Spanish language skills highly valued.
• Commitment to working with Latino men in recovery from substance use disorders.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Flexibility, positivity, and a strong belief in the recovery process.
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions, including in emergencies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
