RESIDENTIAL MANAGER
About the Role
The Residential Manager is directly responsible for ensuring the creation of a safe and healthy environment that fosters communication, a sense of well-being, empowerment, and support to the consumers supported by the program. This role involves overall management of the residential site(s) and all staff working within them, including direct supervision of Lead Direct Support Professionals and Direct Support Professionals (DSP). The Residential Manager acts as a role model for employees, demonstrating the agency's values and expectations in job performance, attitude, and interactions with consumers and other professionals.
This is a full-time hourly position eligible for overtime pay (as approved). The Residential Manager is expected to work a 40-hour workweek with flexibility to handle emergencies, appointments, and other duties based on staffing needs. The role includes assisting the Assistant Director with supervision of assigned personnel and providing oversight of home operations in areas such as operational administration, home management, therapeutic intervention, teaching skills, documentation, and Individual Habilitation Plan/Treatment Plan development.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line supervision of all site staff, including performance documentation and development.
- Be accessible via telephone during scheduled shifts and per the on-call schedule.
- Monitor clock-in and clock-out of DSPs in the payroll management system and keep overtime to a minimum.
- Appropriately manage consumer funds and petty cash per regulations.
- Provide regular supervision and skill training to site employees, addressing any needs for improvement.
- Manage site scheduling, including callouts, no-shows, and time-off requests to ensure coverage.
- Interview and make recommendations regarding new DSP candidates.
- Participate in and attend all planning and team meetings for each person supported.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations, notifying the appropriate persons and completing/submitting incident reports.
- Report any medical concerns to leadership and/or agency nurse immediately.
- Develop and coordinate monthly activities for persons supported, ensuring their implementation and providing required funds.
- Oversee day-to-day management of sites as prescribed in PCSP/ISP or treatment plans.
- Manage, monitor, and reconcile all site and persons-supported-related expenditures.
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep, and safety of the physical site and site vehicles, reporting needed repairs to the Director.
- Monitor and ensure the timely completion of all site documentation (logs, medications, inventories, incident reports, assessments, etc.).
- Ensure the home is prepared for State licensing visits, including person-supported files, medication records, and physical site conditions.
- Act as a liaison and advocate for community resources.
- Ensure services are rendered according to the agency’s mission and ethical standards, adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policies.
- Cooperate with all licensing staff during inspections or investigations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 5-6 years’ experience working with adults with IDD, Behavioral Mental Health Diagnosis, or Drug and Alcohol Recovery Programs.
- Strong working knowledge of appropriate regulations, agency values, and program policies and procedures.
- Basic computer and internet literacy, with the ability to use applications like email, time recording, and data entry/retrieval systems.
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle with state minimum liability insurance coverage.
- Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance, if applicable.
