Residential Life Trainer - (Temporary - Burke County)

About the role

To provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of our greatest asset – OUR EMPLOYEES. This temporary position is located at 517 West Fleming Drive, Morganton, NC 28655- Burke County, with the NC School for the Deaf.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, training, and supportive counseling to NCSD residential school students
• Ensure a safe and secure environment and monitor and supervise students
• Enhance learning opportunities and assist students in a variety of age-appropriate activities that include personal hygiene and grooming, homework, and projects, and social and/or recreational activities
• May tutor students in academic subjects and skill development, conduct formal and informal learning exercises, and provide supportive counseling on interpersonal relationships and appropriate behaviors
• Student Life Trainers may also teach objectives related to the residential program and evaluate student progress, emulating the parenting role in settings that serve children

Requirements

• Education and/or experience in housekeeping work that is directly related to the job
• Qualify through an equivalent combination of education and experience (see Education and Experience Equivalency Guide)

Pay

Hourly rate of pay: $15.00 (based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Shift premium pay for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Schedule

Hiring for multiple positions on second (2nd) and third (3rd) shift.
