Residential Guard- Villa Marie Claire-Full-Time Days

About the role

Shall function as a member of the Villa Marie Claire Security Team providing security services to patients, staff and visitors. In addition, security officers will be knowledgeable of hospital security systems and procedures, local, state, federal guidelines (related to safety and asset protection) and OSHA, NFPA and JC standards. Will support concierge as needed.

Responsibilities

• Immediate intervention in any situation posing a substantial threat to the life and safety of any individual on or in property owned or controlled by the facility (e.g., code gray, code red, code blue, patient watches, etc.)
• Perform vehicle and foot patrol of all buildings, parking lots and grounds to prevent fires, theft and vandalism
• Inspect doors, windows and locks to determine level of security
• Ensure through visual identification that only authorized individuals are admitted onto medical center premises
• Issue keys to authorized facility personnel and document appropriately into log book
• Demonstrate a courteous, professional, understanding and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, visitors, physicians and others
• Escort staff and visitors to and from the parking lot as requested
• Assist motorists who require assistance on facility property and perform errands for various departments as requested and necessary (manpower permitting)
• Demonstrate working knowledge of computer-based security systems (e.g., access control, CCTV, fire systems) and investigate incidents reported by hospital staff, visitors, physicians or patients
• Report all safety and fire hazards observed on routine foot and vehicle patrol
• Assist with traffic control by keeping all fire lanes, fire hydrants and ambulance entrances free of vehicles
• Observe hospital policy concerning fire and safety regulations, infection control standards, smoking restrictions, telephone usage and other rules governing conduct
• Meet the physical demands (mobility, agility, and the capability to bend, lift and stretch) of the position as it relates to patrolling, dealing with patients during evacuation, unruly individuals, assisting patients and others with physical restrictions (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers) and other physical requirements that present themselves
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support various team functions

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred

Experience Qualifications

• 1–3 years healthcare experience preferred
