About the role
We are seeking a Residential Energy Auditor to join our energetic team. This role involves installing energy efficient equipment, conducting energy efficiency (re)audits, and providing technical advice and training.
Responsibilities
- Install energy efficient equipment and conduct energy efficiency (re)audits
- Pre- and post-installation verifications and other technical data gathering activities
- Support Program Managers in influencing stakeholders to sell and/or install energy efficiency and demand response retrofits or services
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement in accordance with client specifications
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and recommend solutions
- Establish and build relationships with residential customers and contractors
- Record and track contractor interaction and verify installations achieve required program savings
- Inform, educate, and train contractors about the program
- Provide individualized and ongoing assistance to property owners and contractors to convert projects according to contract compliance
- Document customer and contractor interactions to adhere to program requirements
- Act as local, on-site program and company representative to customers and contractors
- Encourage participation in the program and overcome barriers
- Provide input and status updates to program staff
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field
- BPI, QCI, or HERS Certification preferred
- Experience in residential energy conservation, preferably in the Weatherization Assistance Program, residential construction, or a related field
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Very good interpersonal, reporting, sales, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well independently and in a team setting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Able to lift thirty-five pounds and the physical ability to inspect tight areas, attics, crawl spaces, hatch doors, etc.
- Must have the ability to utilize a tablet and mobile devices for audits and communication
