Residential Direct Care Specialist

About the role

This is an ongoing temporary up to 40 hours/week position. Shift Hours: Shifts hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm, 3:00pm – 11:30pm and 11:00pm – 7:30am. Shift will be determined based on facility need.

Base pay will be determined upon hire and will fall within a range of $19-$24 per hour. Temporary hourly rate is $26.25 per hour and is in effect for an undetermined amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive mentoring and guidance to young people impacted by behavioral health disorders.
• Serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions.
• Teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene tasks, effective communication, and socialization.
• Assist the youth to articulate their goals and what is important for them.
• Teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist the youth in reaching their goals.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
