Fred Finch Youth & Family Services collaborates with individuals and communities to deliver culturally responsive services that promote mental and physical resilience and wellness. The San Diego Dual Diagnosis Program is a 14-bed residential treatment facility offering integrated mental health services.
What You Will Do
The Residential Counselor role involves independently performing counseling duties in support of residential and/or housing services. These positions require exercising judgment and initiative, receiving continuous coaching and direction, and being fully aware of the program's operating procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree; Child Development Teaching Permit; 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Care Education; at least 100 hours of experience working with youth.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record, properly registered and insured vehicle.
- Experience: At least one year of employment as a staff or volunteer at a group home or short-term residential therapeutic center; relevant experience as determined by the department.
