The Fred Finch San Diego Dual Diagnosis Program operates as a 14-bed residential treatment facility in Lemon Grove, offering integrated mental health services alongside a non-public school setting.
Residential Counselors at this level are responsible for independently performing counseling duties in support of residential and/or housing services. They exercise judgment and initiative in their tasks, receive coaching and direction as needed, and are familiar with the program's operating procedures and policies.
What You Will Do
The Residential Counselor classification involves independently performing counseling duties in support of residential and/or housing services. This role requires exercising judgment and initiative, receiving coaching and direction as necessary, and being fully aware of the program's operating procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree; Child Development Teaching Permit; 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Care Education; 100 hours of experience working with youth; Valid Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification; 100 hours of experience working with youth; Vocational Training certificate, credential, or documentation demonstrating trade journeyperson status; 100 hours of experience working with youth; Relevant experience as determined by the department.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record, and properly registered and insured vehicle.
