About the Role
Join a compassionate and collaborative team dedicated to supporting individuals on their mental health recovery journey. As a Residential Counselor I, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference each day by fostering a safe, structured, and supportive living environment.
Responsibilities
- Support residents in developing daily living skills through psycho-social education, structured routines, and engaging activities
- Facilitate recreational and educational group activities to promote socialization, wellness, and recovery
- Monitor resident behavior and provide redirection as needed to ensure compliance with program expectations and safety standards
- Aid residents with self-medication procedures and document appropriately in accordance with care protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and financial tracking
- Collaborate closely with the care team to ensure high-quality support and services
- Coordinate and communicate with team members regarding resident updates, shift handoffs, and program needs
- Supervise meal preparation and provide education on nutrition and dietary guidelines
- Conduct room inspections and coach residents on hygiene, cleanliness, and personal responsibility
- Respond to and report emergencies, crises, or disruptions while ensuring resident safety and program continuity
- Provide transportation for residents as needed for appointments or outings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or human services required
- Experience working in residential services or supportive housing preferred
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required

- Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and interpersonal settings
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced residential care environment
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate situations and support individuals in crisis
- Dependable, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to promote a positive, recovery-oriented environment for individuals with mental health needs
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods (approximately 20% of shift)
- Sitting for extended periods (approximately 80% of shift)
- Occasional squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Ability to drive occasionally for resident transport or program needs
- Occasional lifting as required for daily tasks and resident support
- Occasional travel for work-related purposes

Pay Range
$14.25--$20.00
Schedule
Saturday & Sunday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM OR Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Monday & Thursday: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
