Vinfen is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to individuals with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges. Founded in 1977, Vinfen promotes recovery, resiliency, habilitation, and self-determination for the people they serve.
Responsibilities
- Aids individuals in integrating into their communities and fostering friendships.
- Affords individuals access to community-based support and resources.
- Plans and implements recreational and social activities to enhance emotional well-being.
- Empowers and supports individuals to make choices and advocate for themselves.
- Supports individuals in accessing assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Encourages and supports individuals in securing, maintaining, and growing in community engagement.
- Maintains records, assesses physical and emotional status, and documents incidents and activities.
- Administers medication according to the Medication Administration Plan (MAP).
- Communicates with relevant parties and ensures compliance with regulatory policies.
- Ensures home safety and maintenance.
- Completes various paperwork and logs.
- Provides shift coverage and serves as a human rights advocate.
- Performs physical intervention and first aid in emergencies.
- Serves as a reporter to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
- Develops, implements, and documents treatment plans, including ISP/PSTPs and clinical programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services-related field preferred.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, behavioral conditions, and brain injury strongly preferred.
- Strong time management and writing skills.
- At least 21 years old and hold a valid US drivers' license for at least 6 months.
- Must be able to become CPR, First Aid, and MAP certified within 2 weeks and 150 days of employment, respectively.
- Pass CORI, reference, national fingerprinting, and driving record checks.
