Responsibilities & Duties
- To be courteous, neat, clean, and in uniform on the job.
- Absorb and assist all lead installer’s tasks such as setting up truck stock, loading equipment, and gathering supplies needed for jobs.
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and maintained both inside and out on a weekly basis.
- Protect customer property and valuables to the best of your ability.
- Unload trash, old equipment, and other debris from jobs daily.
- Follow lead man’s instructions.
- Inventory should be counted and maintained according to the standard service truck inventory list. Shortages are the crew's responsibility.
- Maintain and protect company assigned tools, reporting any deficiencies to the Lead Installer and/or Manager.
- Report any vehicle mechanical problems to the vehicle maintenance coordinator.
- Notify the manager/supervisor when you will not be working. Adequate notice must be given by the employee.
- Be available for after-hours emergency service, according to the on-call schedule or as the Manager sees fit, based on business needs.
- Input/edit all model, serial numbers, and filters for customer locations. Take pictures of new and old equipment as required.
- Comply with EPA and company CFC policies.
- Responsible for purchasing, maintaining, and replacing personal hand tools, meters, and other specialized tools required to perform job duties.
- Adhere to all rules and guidelines listed in the employee handbook.
- Perform any other duties as Residential Install Manager or Lead installer deems necessary.
Education, Knowledge and Skills Required or Desirable
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of ductwork design and construction.
- Experience in refrigeration pipe fitting and installation.
- Good mechanical skills required.
- Professional demeanor while performing job duties.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers.
- Completion of a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education annually.
- A minimum Type I and II C.F.C. certification.
- Ability to work with step ladders and extension ladders, not afraid of heights.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds above your waist.
- Registration with the State of Texas Licensing and Regulations.
