Job Duties
- Completes performance evaluations and approves leave requests for at least one cottage and/or shift.
- Serves as backup supervisor of other cottages in the absence of the QIDP or another RCS1.
- Engages with employees and partners with openness and trust.
- Ensures business practices are accessible and visible.
- Assigns job duties and evaluates job performance.
- Attempts to resolve labor conflicts before they become official.
- Directs volunteers and visitors.
- Maintains a safe, clean cottage in good repair.
- Maintains a calm work environment across campus.
- Trains and/or orients new staff.
- Trains staff in policies and procedures.
- Affirms that appropriate staff attend interdisciplinary team meetings prepared to participate in developing/revising the interprofessional practice (IPP).
- Performs direct duties as necessary.
- Gathers and collects information on individuals and/or property as pertinent to facility reports.
- Affirms that adequate materials and supplies are on hand for staff to perform their job duties.
- Affirms that adequate staff are available to provide identified services.
- Monitors implementation of the IPP for accuracy and for resident's response to training.
- Reviews residents' personal inventory and personal needs.
- Attends either the planning or development IPP and participates in developing the IPP.
- Affirms that direct service staff utilize proper training techniques (for example, prompt hierarchy, communication hierarchy, redirection and reinforcement) when interacting with residents.
- Maintains safe conditions for residents and staff at the facility.
- Monitors campus and buildings for unusual and/or unsafe conditions.
- Reports equipment malfunctions.
- Completes reports.
- Prepares and submits summaries of monitoring observations.
- Performs a variety of safety functions (for example, fire drills, evacuations, environmental inspections) of all living areas.
- Assists any department as directed during emergency situations.
- Keeps staff informed.
- Communicates routinely with other supervisors to relay concerns and offer suggestions.
- Attends assigned meetings, training sessions, conferences.
- Completes required reports.
- Assists in the certification process.
