Residential Advisor (RA) - On-Call

This is a substitute/part-time on-call position located onsite in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Job Overview
Some of the most important conversations in a young person’s life happen outside the classroom. That’s where our Residential Advisors (RAs) come in. Many of our students are living away from home for the first time. Residential Advisors play a vital role in helping them develop the habits, confidence, and life skills they need to succeed - so they can focus on building their futures. We’re looking for Substitute Residential Advisors to help mentor, supervise, and support students on our residential campus. This is an on-call, part-time opportunity designed to provide coverage for vacations, absences, and other operational needs within our residential program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor students in a residential dormitory setting
- Promote positive behavior, accountability, and leadership
- Lead dorm meetings, group activities, and student engagement events
- Monitor student safety
- Assist with recreational trips and student transportation
- Conduct dorm inspections and support facility upkeep
- Maintain documentation and student reports
- Support student development through coaching and guidance
- Cultivate a respectful, safe campus environment free from harassment or intimidation
Job Requirements
- Mandatory: High school diploma or equivalent
- Mandatory: Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Mandatory: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Preferred: Experience in residential programs or mentoring environments
- Preferred: Experience working with youth or young adults
- Preferred: Associate degree in counseling, social work, or related field
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate of pay is $17.20 per hour. Because this position is funded through a federal Service Contract Act (SCA) contract, the hourly wage rate is predetermined and not negotiable. In addition to hourly pay, employees receive an additional $4.93/hour in lieu of Health & Welfare (H&W) fringe benefits under the Service Contract Act.
