Resident Transportation Driver

Job Summary

Yellowstone River Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Resident Transportation Driver to assist with transporting residents to appointments and activities. The position requires a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and physical capabilities to handle wheelchair-bound residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide medically necessary transportation to residents in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Safely secure residents' wheelchairs to restraining devices during trips.
• Report resident medical issues promptly.
• Implement and adhere to the transportation schedule, notifying nursing and unit managers of any conflicts or issues.
• Notify supervisors when equipment needs maintenance or repair, and when there are unresolved scheduling conflicts.
• Clean the interior of the van regularly to maintain its appearance for resident transport.
• Ensure patients are supervised, safety is maintained, and patients are treated with respect and dignity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state drivers' license.
• Proof of insurance.
• Satisfactory, safe driving record.
• At least 21 years old.

Physical Demands

• Standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, feeling, seeing, talking, and hearing.
• Pushing/pulling residents in wheelchairs weighing between 100-300 lbs, including assisting ambulatory residents with entering/exiting the vehicle.
