What Will I Be Doing?
CHI is seeking a full-time Resident Support Specialist Supervisor for our Commack location. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring quality services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines from CHI, OTDA, Suffolk County Department of Social Services, and other funding sources.
- Providing consistent supervision and support for all Resident Support Specialist staff.
- Conducting 1 to 1 meetings with team members and updating performance goals, accomplishments, notes, and feedback in Paycom regularly (weekly/bi-weekly).
- Maintaining staff up-to-date and in compliance with all required trainings.
- Implementing on-site training and providing feedback as needed.
- Scheduling and covering Resident Support Specialist shifts at the location.
- Acting as a liaison between CHI and external entities, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- De-escalating potential crisis situations and documenting all incidents and interventions.
- Auditing logs, incident reports, and other required documentation to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Guiding RSS staff on appropriate documentation.
- Conducting fire drills and evacuating the building when necessary.
- Ensuring the program is providing quality services and is compliant with program requirements.
- Informing clients about program policies and procedures.
- Preventing loss of income to CHI due to vacancy loss and lost shelter payments, property, etc.
- Assisting the management team in communication and being an on-call supervisor.
Anything Else?
- Salary: $24.04 per hour - $50,003 annually
- Overtime: Available
- Open Shifts: Tuesday - Saturday, 5 pm - 1 am with on-call responsibilities
What Do I Need?
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years’ experience providing management services or experience in a human services field.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage.
- Physical Performance: Ability to tour properties, walk distances, climb stairs, etc.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
- Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines.
