About the role
The Resident Services Manager of Assisted Living is responsible for organizing, supervising, and administering the overall resident care program. This includes coordinating social, medical, psychological, spiritual, and physical services for residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement resident care policies, procedures, objectives, and standards of practice.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and implement corrective actions for department team members.
- Complete required record keeping related to these processes and make at least daily rounds to assess quality of care performance and teamwork by employees.
- Evaluate job performance of department team members as assigned by Manager/Administrator.
- Prepare schedules within budgetary guidelines, provide adequate staff to ensure quality of care, and meet required personal care hours.
- Conduct regular team meetings with all shifts for planning, coordinating, and implementing policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate resident records and prepare and submit reports as required by community policy and governmental agencies.
- Coordinate department activities with other departments to maximize service to residents.
- Ensure personal care needs of residents are met.
- May act in the absence of the Administrator.
- May maintain current licenses and registrations for team members.
- May maintain medical records for all team members.
- Comprehensively assess residents and develop and implement resident plans of care.
- Knowledgeable of resident admission process and able to proceed with admission process, maintaining compliance with all organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Manage adequate supply and equipment inventory for nursing team.
- Participate in the development of the annual budget.
- Evaluate resident services and take appropriate action to ensure quality service to residents.
- Assess accidents involving residents, nursing staff, and visitors and develop and implement recommendations for follow-up.
- Use standard precautions to prevent spread of communicable diseases; enforce and train proper infection control practices to staff, residents, and visitors.
- Participate in required in-service programs and staff meetings, including program presentations.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Current Personal Care Home Administrator license preferred.
- Two years’ experience in gerontological nursing preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations required.
- Ability to instruct, direct, and lead team members required.
- Computer skills required.
