SHP Management, a leader in the affordable housing market, is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to provide services at our 360-unit family property in Pine Hill, NJ, and our 100-unit elder/disabled site in Wildwood, NJ. Travel between locations is required.

About the role

The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating non-sheltered needs of the resident population, fostering cooperation within the management team to enhance residents’ ability to live independently and safely in their community. This role is directly supervised by the Senior Resident Services Coordinator for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of community support resources, eligibility requirements, and delivery methods
  • Empower residents to make personal decisions, increase self-esteem, and maximize independence
  • Provide advocacy for the resident population
  • Collaborate with on-site staff, state, federal, and community agencies
  • Establish trust, listen, and assist residents in defining problems and identifying resources/solutions
  • Serve as a liaison between residents and management
  • Coordinate and implement programs of social, medical, psychological, and rehabilitative services
  • Improve the quality of life within the development
  • Establish on-site educational and wellness programs
  • Provide direct and crisis interventions to residents
  • Develop effective working relationships with federal, state, and local community agencies and service providers
  • Provide support and referrals to local, state, and federal agencies and service providers
  • Maintain confidential documentation of interventions, services, and communication
  • Complete and submit required HUD reports and other documentation
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills, as well as flexibility

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous housing experience preferred
  • Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for actions
  • Dependable and trustworthy
  • Ability to organize and complete work within deadlines
  • Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work

Pay

$60,000 yearly salary
