About the role

Multinational leader in the design and production of high-speed milling systems, 5-axis machine tools, numerical controls, and proprietary software, seeks a Resident Service Engineer for the United States area. The selected candidate will carry out ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of CNC metal chip removal machine tools in the USA, with availability to relocate, reside, or travel to the country for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage independently service interventions for major clients across the entire US territory, serving as a point of reference for the Italian headquarters and the Michigan branch
  • Ensure high quality standards of on-site assistance, operating in compliance with received directives, approved plans, company policies and procedures
  • Ensure high product functionality by providing timely and targeted technical support to preserve production performance and long-term value
  • Enhance customer experience by verifying satisfaction levels with appropriate tools and implementing corrective actions when needed
  • Interface with key company functions (Production, Logistics, Technical Office) to streamline service processes
  • Support Managers in developing service strategies to achieve optimal intervention approaches
  • Support the Service Manager in activity planning and developing new operational strategies to improve service quality on machine tools
  • Serve as technical interface between US clients, the Michigan branch, and the Italian parent company to ensure proper operational alignment
  • Perform ordinary, extraordinary, and preventive electromechanical assistance interventions
  • Conduct troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of technologically complex metalworking machine tools (milling machines, portal machines, machining centers)
  • Diagnose machine alarms, detect, evaluate, isolate, and locate faults
  • Inspect mechanical and/or electrical components (motors, cables, drives) and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Calibrate, parameterize, and adjust machine axes with dynamic analysis following overhaul/replacement
  • Overhaul spindle lines including component replacement and balance/concentricity verification
  • Evaluate new operational strategies
  • Assess customer satisfaction levels
  • Complete and archive repair and service reports

Requirements

  • Prior experience in service and/or installation roles for CNC metal chip removal machine tools
  • Residence in or availability to relocate with extended stays in the United States (approximately 6 months) and willingness to travel frequently to clients across US territory
  • Proficiency in English
