Resident Service Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled Resident Service Engineer in New Jersey. This Engineer will work on-site at one of our Key Customers locations to install, maintain and support Packsize equipment, manage our parts and inventory unit within the warehouse, as well as build and maintain customer relationships by effectively servicing the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams
- Receive incoming parts and supplies, verify their quality and quantity
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of parts transactions
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of parts and supplies
- Analyze customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to identify new or ongoing machine performance issues resulting in problem-solving and machine maintenance
- Develops knowledge of Packaging Designs
- Learns and develops the customer support and technical skills necessary to perform high quality maintenance
- Performs preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and accessories
- Completes and successfully pass training courses
- Builds and maintains customer relationships by effectively servicing the equipment
- Completes and successfully pass training courses
- Performs installation of new equipment and train Customer Personnel
- Learns and completes basic administration duties (assigned tasks, emails, etc.)
- Exposes themselves to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
- Exhibits excellent work ethic and time management skills
- Must be accessible via telephone, and promptly return email and phone messages
- Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography, overnight travel may be required
Requirements
- Proven experience in parts and inventory management, preferably in similar industry
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Basic Excel, Word skills
- Knowledge of Windows platforms
- Advanced mechanical skills
- Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment issues utilizing drawings, operational characteristics, and technical documentation
- Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able and willing to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist
- Exhibit mature, independent judgment with little or no direct supervision
- Effectively communicate through written and verbal reports to customer and direct supervision regarding worksite status
Skills
- Machine Operation: Clearing jams, loading Z-fold, changing labels, changing bander paper and adding glue to the machine.
