Resident Manager
Summary Of Responsibilities
The Resident Manager is a supervisory position and the person selected will act as the liaison between the residents of The Kent and Extell Management Services Inc. The Resident Manager shall exercise effective judgment and decision making in the oversight of the daily operations of the building. Daily operations include repairs and maintenance of the property’s equipment; property cleanliness and maintenance; proper planning for any emergency situations to include the monitoring and maintenance of the security, alarm, fire suppression and related systems; coordination with the building retail regarding the repair and maintenance of shared systems and equipment; and the management of satisfactory work performed by vendors and contractors.
This position performs regular walkthroughs of the property to identify and address any issues, manages the amenity spaces, orders and distributes supplies, and oversees the coordination of move-ins/outs. The Resident Manager supervises and directs building staff, ensures compliance with company, 32BJ and building policies and procedure and oversees staff training, staff scheduling, and other related payroll and human resources responsibilities. The Resident Manager will also be responsible for assisting management in the drafting, finalizing, and monitoring of the annual building budget.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective ability to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, the Equal Employment Opportunity, Fair Housing and Human Rights statutes, and 32BJ Union Guidelines.
- A high school diploma or GED and a vocational/technical background.
- A minimum of 5 years working with electrical, mechanical, plumbing equipment and systems. Luxury hotel or residential background.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex operational matters daily.
- Facilities and operations experience with solid knowledge of building systems.
- Prior experience with BMS (Building Management Systems, BuildingLink, and Yardi) is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of painting and finishing work.
- Strong background in working with fire, life, health, and safety systems.
- Effective judgement and decision-making.
- A working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Windows, Yardi etc.
- Effective supervisory skills with 5 years’ experience managing luxury building staff.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized Base Salary: $125-175k.
