About the role
This position is responsible for assisting with resident engagement opportunities and activities for participants in Residential and Non-Residential program within Hilltop’s Brain Injury Services. This role promotes healthy, activity-enriched lifestyles for participants through activities that cover the seven dimensions of wellness: social, intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and vocational.
Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate recreational activities both on and off the Bacon Campus for residents.
- Drive residents to and from offsite activities using handicapped-accessible vehicles, up to and including 12-person buses.
- Communicate the needs of both resident and staff to ensure good customer service for the overall well-being of residents and their natural supports, staff, and vendors.
- Provide behavior management techniques in accordance with individual resident’s care plans and report concerns regarding health or behavior changes to appropriate personnel.
- Complete required documentation promptly, accurately, and legibly.
- Maintain professional boundaries with all residents enrolled in any Hilltop program or residing at any of Hilltop's facilities, all while maintaining the dignity, confidentiality, privacy and rights of every resident.
- Support fellow staff with recreational/exercise activities including planning, facilitating, cueing, documenting, and other duties.
Requirements
- High school or General Education Degree (GED) plus year of related work experience or two years of work experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 21 years of age required.
- A valid Colorado Driver’s License (required).
- CPR Certificate/First Aid Certificate (preferred).
- Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification (preferred).
- De-Escalation Training (preferred).
- Hilltop’s Transportation Certification (preferred).
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school or General Education Degree (GED) plus year of related work experience or two years of work experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with Hilltop’s values.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement behavior management techniques.
- Experience with recreational activities and event planning.
- Ability to drive and transport residents safely.
- Proficiency in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience with medication administration.
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques.
- Experience with Hilltop’s transportation certification.

Pay
$17.50 to $18.37 per hour
Schedule
- Full-time: Tuesday-Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm
- Full-time: Sunday-Thursday 12pm-8:30pm
