Resident Director
About the role
The Resident Director (RD) is a full-time, 12-month, live-in position and serves as a member of the Residential Education Professional staff team. The RD is responsible for resident orientation to community living; resident counseling; policy enforcement and adjudication; day and night on-site crisis response; curricular approach to student engagement; student staff recruitment, selection, training and evaluation; housing management and special projects. The RD provides a variety of support services to the residential students and assists with the management of the housing program. The residential facilities include residence halls, apartments and family housing.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for resident orientation to community living
- Responsible for resident counseling
- Enforces and adjudicates policies
- Provides day and night on-site crisis response
- Engages students through a curricular approach
- Recruits, selects, trains, and evaluates student staff
- Manages housing programs
- Assists with special projects
Requirements
- 4 - 7 years of related experience
- Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques
- Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization
- Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance
- Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems

Benefits
This is a four (4) year contract appointment with the possibility to be extended for one (1) additional year for a maximum total of five (5) years. The full salary range for the Resident Director is $57,700.00 - $99,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $58,700 annually in addition to housing and meal plan compensation.
