About the role
The Resident Care Supervisor oversees all activities and operations within the Assisted Living community of a managed Inspired Living community. This role manages resident care, supervises staff, communicates with medical professionals and families, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a homelike atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all residents are evaluated prior to residency or with any change of condition to ensure appropriate service delivery; presents evaluations for approval.
- Communicates with residents, families, and staff to meet resident needs and participates in care conferences.
- Screens, hires, trains, and supervises Care Partner and activity staff, including managing performance and ensuring compliance with HR guidelines.
- Verifies staff hours, completes schedules to meet resident needs and budget, and assigns tasks such as blood pressure and weight monitoring.
- Monitors medication administration, conducts audits, and assists with medication management, including ordering and record-keeping.
- Observes residents’ health status, reports concerns, and responds to emergencies promptly.
- Conducts pre-move-in screenings, ensures completion of required documentation, and performs ongoing resident assessments.
- Communicates with families about resident needs, appointments, and achievements; organizes service plan reviews.
- Performs safety and infection control checks and coordinates staff schedules, including arranging replacements as needed.
- Schedules and oversees in-house medical services (e.g., podiatrist visits, labs) and maintains resident records.
- Participates in community events, provides guidance for activity programs, and ensures inventory control and budget compliance.
- Oversees the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines.
- Promotes teamwork, safety, and a positive work environment; assists with workplace injury investigations as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred.
- Prior supervisory/management experience required.
- Minimum three years’ experience in assisted living or memory care preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in person and over the phone.
- May require applicable state certifications such as CHHA/CNA or Med-Tech.
