About the role
The Resident Care Supervisor at Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community, oversees routine and emergent resident care services during every other weekend shifts. The role includes leading each shift, performing duties of a Medication Technician and Resident Care Assistant, monitoring residents' needs, and communicating with staff and families.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates positive leadership and oversight of each shift for resident care services.
- Communicates clearly and thoroughly with staff members and families regarding resident and community issues.
- Makes appropriate referrals to outside service providers and monitors residents' needs.
- Assists in maintaining a cheerful and homelike environment and ensures residents receive the assistance they require.
- Reviews and completes all written documentation before leaving the shift.
- Participates in required in-services education and other meetings/training.
- Prompts reporting of staff or resident issues using the documentation systems as described in the DePaul staff handbook.
- Maintains daily time card recording as described in the handbook.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Resident Care Director.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- CNA, HHA, or PCA certification preferred.
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Must respect and maintain resident rights and confidentiality.
- Must be First Aid certified (DePaul will provide training).
- Must pass the Health Evaluation exam/tests performed at the time of hire and yearly thereafter.
- Must be approved by the NYS Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) unit and meet company employment criteria.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with residents and others in the English language.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
- Ability to visually observe residents.
- Ability to audibly hear call bells, emergency systems, and verbal needs expressed by residents.
- Ability to turn, stoop, bend, and stretch in order to assist residents.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including the evacuation of residents and visitors in the event of fire.
- Ability to push medication cart down hallway without assistance.

Pay
The pay range for this opportunity is $18.00 - $18.30 per hour.
Schedule
This position is eligible for every other weekend shifts.
