Washington Care Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a Resident Care Manager (RCM) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day activities performed by nursing assistants. Develops a plan of care for residents by evaluating and assessing their complete needs, arranging and coordinating all services to ensure the plan is met, and reevaluating and adjusting as necessary to ensure resident health, safety, and general wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing care to residents in compliance with state and Federal Regulations.
- Participates in the development of a written plan of care for each resident and reviews medical and nursing treatments to ensure alignment with the resident’s care plan and wishes.
- Completes the planning, scheduling, and revising of the MDS, including the implementation of RAPs and Triggers.
- Makes daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments.
- Reviews nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care provided and the resident’s response to care.
- Participates in reviews of discharge plans and prepares reports for the Care Plan Committee as directed.
- Delegates, trains, evaluates, and supports RN, LPN, and CNA personnel.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary.
- Assists the Director of Nursing and fills in as needed.
- Makes recommendations for new or changed procedures, policies, methods, education, reference material, and general nursing practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current WA or Compact RN/LPN licensure in good standing.
- 2+ years in a supervisory/management position, including experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting.
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Skills
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
- Working knowledge of MDS process, state and federal survey, and CMS.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation systems.
- Ability to create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
