About the role

The Resident Care Manager, RN oversees the day-to-day operations of Long Term Care and Transitional Care Units. Key responsibilities include assessing residents, planning and implementing care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments of current residents at critical points of change.
  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates continuous functioning of the unit.
  • Maintains awareness of changes in state and federal regulation.
  • Serves as the primary contact person to meet and appropriately handle resident and/or family concerns.
  • Assists in coordinating and participating in resident care conferences.
  • Works outside of regularly-scheduled shifts on occasion.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on residents according to established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Monitors and supervises all staff in maintaining accuracy of documentation.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects.
  • Provides input and monitoring of appropriate Medicare, MSHO (if applicable), and insurance usage by residents.
  • Evaluates appropriateness of resident placement on the unit.
  • Actively participates in staff development activities.
  • Coordinates and conducts educational and informational staff meetings.
  • Maintains adequate staffing.
  • Assists in interviewing and selecting new employees.
  • Assesses educational needs of the unit.
  • Assists in determining competency of staff.
  • Rotates weekend and weekly on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Active NE RN license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Long Term Care and/or Senior Living experience preferred.
  • Previous Nurse Manager or Supervisor experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Current Certificate in CPR/BLS.
