About the role
The Resident Care Manager, RN oversees the day-to-day operations of Long Term Care and Transitional Care Units. Key responsibilities include assessing residents, planning and implementing care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing staff.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessments of current residents at critical points of change.
- Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates continuous functioning of the unit.
- Maintains awareness of changes in state and federal regulation.
- Serves as the primary contact person to meet and appropriately handle resident and/or family concerns.
- Assists in coordinating and participating in resident care conferences.
- Works outside of regularly-scheduled shifts on occasion.
- Maintains accurate documentation on residents according to established policies, procedures and standards.
- Monitors and supervises all staff in maintaining accuracy of documentation.
- Participates in quality improvement projects.
- Provides input and monitoring of appropriate Medicare, MSHO (if applicable), and insurance usage by residents.
- Evaluates appropriateness of resident placement on the unit.
- Actively participates in staff development activities.
- Coordinates and conducts educational and informational staff meetings.
- Maintains adequate staffing.
- Assists in interviewing and selecting new employees.
- Assesses educational needs of the unit.
- Assists in determining competency of staff.
- Rotates weekend and weekly on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Active NE RN license or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Long Term Care and/or Senior Living experience preferred.
- Previous Nurse Manager or Supervisor experience preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Current Certificate in CPR/BLS.
