Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Juniper Communities’ philosophy, hallmarks, and all written policies and procedures governing the Wellness Department.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with policies, procedures, and instructions from your supervisor, Wellness Director, or other Leadership Team members.
• Follow work assignments and schedules to complete tasks.
• Report changes in residents’ psychosocial and physical condition, including skin breakdown, to the Wellness Director.
• Cooperate with other departmental staff to meet residents’ needs.
• Report complaints, grievances, and instances of abuse to the Wellness Director.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Wellness Director.
• Participate in shift change and receive reports from the prior shift.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dental and mouth care, bathing, dressing, hair and nail care, shaving, continence management, use of prosthetic devices, transportation, appointments, telephone use, correspondence, social and leisure activities, ambulation, and dining.
• Serve meals and assist in clearing tables under the direction of the Executive Chef.
• Implement Connections activities as assigned by the Connections Director.
• Report needed repairs and safety concerns to the Environmental Services Director.
• Answer all emergency response system calls immediately.
• Provide post-mortem care as instructed.
• Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other team members.
• Communicate with family members, visitors, and volunteers in a customer-service-oriented manner.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Participate in Wellness Meetings.
• Perform special treatments as instructed.
• Assist with laundry as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a state-regulated nurse aide training course (if applicable).
• Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of older adults.
• Successful completion of CPR and First Aid courses.
• Successful completion of an approved medication administration course.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the community.
• Attendance and participation in mandated yearly training programs and required meetings.
• Ability to manage time efficiently to achieve goals.
• Adherence to all Human Resources policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
• Respect for confidentiality of information and residents' rights.
• Perform job safely, using proper body mechanics and infection control.
• Responsible for proper care of all property, equipment, supplies, and financial assets involved in the job.

Pay

Starting at $18.29 per hour; higher rates available for experienced caregivers.

Schedule
