About the role
The Manager oversees the daily operations of the residential facility, focusing on staff supervision, treatment planning, and maintenance of the physical plant to ensure quality services for emotionally disabled adults.
Responsibilities
- Support the individual by maintaining a comfortable home environment.
- Ensure adequate coverage during shifts by alerting the Program Coordinator when essential staff call out.
- Inform Service Users (SS) about their schedules and monitor their adherence to the schedule.
- Document house and occurrence logs and ensure SS are completing goals according to methods.
- Implement behavioral support plans as necessary and observed.
- Attend meetings at schools and/or day treatment programs and communicate professionally with relevant parties.
- Monitor clothing inventories monthly and collaborate with nurses on medical issues.
- Verify documentation of contacts with schools, day treatment programs, and families.
- Conduct fire drills according to schedule and inform clinical teams of needed supplies.
- Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships and adhere to agency policies.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance Team on internal investigations and reports.
- Inform Program Coordinator of staff performance and disciplinary concerns.
- Inform RN and Nursing Administrator of consumer medical concerns or behavioral changes.
- Assume DCC/SS responsibilities in the absence or shortage of staff to ensure safety and health.
- Provide in-house training to new employees.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related human service field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working with developmentally disabled populations, preferably in a residential, health, or treatment-related setting.
- Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Minimum 3 years of administrative/managerial experience with emotionally disabled populations. Must complete Medication Administration Course within 90 days of employment.
- Skills: Excellent management, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency with basic computer usage and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other: QDIP Certification preferred; valid NYS Driver’s License required; ability and willingness to obtain SCIPR certification.
