About the role

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable data to onsite researchers. This position provides direct laboratory support to onsite researchers for a wide range of routine and non-routine operations, with the expectation of making method or parameter adjustments based on observed results.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers safe, efficient, and reliable data to onsite researchers.
  • Provides direct laboratory support to onsite researchers for a wide range of routine and non-routine operations, with the expectation of making method or parameter adjustments based on observed results.
  • Performs quality assurance tests on company products, records test results, prepares laboratory reports, and provides technical support to researchers during additive selection and fluid design.
  • Uses a variety of laboratory equipment, including HTHP (High Temperature High Pressure) equipment, requiring a degree of acquired skills in drilling fluids and cement testing.
  • Set up, operate, maintain and calibrate special equipment following manufacturer's instructions with limited supervision.
  • Ensures job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Ensures that laboratory equipment is in clean, working condition and that waste is regularly disposed.
  • Performs routine calibration and maintenance on lab equipment following our safety standards.
  • Maintains laboratory databases and prepare chemical samples.
  • Performs regular audits to ensure the laboratory operates according to required standards.
  • Affords assistance to the Design/Technical Engineer and Product Champions with technical support as required.
  • Participates in HSE and Quality initiatives.
  • Wears PPE and observes HSE policies.
  • Maintains the required safety training.
  • Performs risk analysis before each task or job to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.

Requirements

  • 2 year Associate Degree & 3 yrs of exp as HTHP in Cementing Laboratories
  • Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Calibration
  • Microsoft Office exp. excel and data entry, and report tracking
