Reservation Agent
Position Summary
Step into the center of campus life! We are seeking a Reservation Agent who blends upscale hospitality with the vibrant energy of a university community. You are the first impression for visiting professors, proud alumni, guest speakers, and excited families. Provide expert local recommendations and handle check-ins and checkouts with flawless execution.
Curate the Experience: Partner closely with housekeeping and management to anticipate guest needs and fulfill special requests smoothly.
Drive the Logistics: Manage advanced reservations and maintain daily business reports with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Inspire the Crew: Assist with training and mentoring student worker s or support staff, setting a premium example of hospitality.
Bridge the Community: Interface professionally with university departments, VIP guests, and internal staff to ensure flawless operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in hotel reservations; to include experience with computerized hotel accounting and reservation systems, negotiation of room and block rates, preparation of standard hotel reports, direct customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of progressive experience in hotel reservations, with a proven track record of handling high-end customer service.
- Strong experience with computerized hotel accounting and reservation systems, plus the skills to prepare standard hotel reports.
- Proven ability to negotiate room and block rates confidently and professionally.
- Excellent communication skills suited for an upscale clientele and academic VIPs.
- A high school diploma required, though we happily welcome an equivalent combination of education and hands-on hospitality experience.
Desired Qualifications
