Primary Responsibilities
- Follows all aspects of SOP's in the conduct of patient diagnostic testing.
- Knowledge and performance of clinical diagnostics consistent with CAP and/or CLIA requirements.
- Aid in maintaining laboratory environment and function at a level consistent with CAP and CLIA guidelines.
- Perform testing using a range of biochemical techniques under the direction of the Laboratory Head and/or lab managers.
- Responsible for processing various biological specimens, following laboratory protocols.
- Understand the use of equipment within the laboratory.
- Utilize databases for diagnostic sample tracking and results.
- Comply with safety policies specified by departmental and hospital regulations to ensure a safe work environment and prevent potential safety hazards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in biology, genetics, biochemistry or related field;
- Knowledge of basic enzyme and immunoassay techniques, related research methodology;
- Computer literacy required;
- One to three years experience working in a biomedical research laboratory.
