Research Technologist
About the role
The Research Technologist position is located in the virus and gene therapy laboratory at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Mayo Clinic is a leading healthcare provider and research institution, consistently ranked among the best hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, such as assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc.
- Maintain lab equipment and supplies.
- Collect, enter, and summarize data.
- Assist in basic statistical data analysis.
- Present findings at research laboratory meetings.
- Contribute to writing of manuscripts.
- Work under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as approved by the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field, or an associate's degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Must demonstrate a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety.
- Ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting.
- Experience with basic data analysis is required.
- Demonstrated writing skills are necessary.

This position is nonexempt.
Compensation Detail
$27.99 - $41.98 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience and tenure.
