Responsibilities
- Plans and performs a variety of moderately complex laboratory tests, analyses, and observations, using techniques of cellular immunology including flow and microscope.
- Applies these techniques to evaluate interdisciplinary clinical studies and trials.
- Extracts and analyzes experimental data; analyzes flow cytometry data using Flowjo and other proprietary software.
- Affirms the importance of findings in relation to the general research program.
- Operates computer and/or peripheral equipment.
- Maintains quality control tracking of methods and reagent performance performing QC testing and maintenance of computerized inventory and databases.
- Prepares presentation materials for seminar presentations, publications, and preliminary data for grant submissions.
- Presents research results at lab meetings and assists in writing papers for publication.
- Assists in the management of the laboratory's reagent inventory, including reagents necessary for day-to-day laboratory operations; keep research supplies stocked.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in a biological science or a related field, with major course work in the field of Microbiology & Immunology
- 5 years’ experience with performing basic sampling, monitoring or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with flow cytometry and microscope
