Research Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related lab work experience, to include animal handling.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with animal handling/experiments preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting experiments and technical procedures.
• Performs laboratory research activities.
• Aids undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
• Assists with animal care, genotype, and surgery procedures.
• Collects and prepares samples.
• Analyzes images and prepares histological cuts.
• Makes and records observations and measurements.
• Maintains animal reports and data files.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Maintains laboratories according to OSHA specifications.
• Supports logistical needs in the laboratory.
• Cleans up the laboratory daily.

Pay

Proposed Salary: $20.00 hourly.

Schedule

Work Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, TX, this is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.
