About the role
The Kim Lab, part of the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute & Princeton Neuroscience Institute, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar and a Research Technician. Both roles require backgrounds in in vivo neuroscience and live imaging, with a focus on validating next-generation fluorescent sensors for multiplexed imaging in the living brain.
Responsibilities
- Assist with stereotactic surgeries and viral injections
- Conduct fiber photometry and 2-photon imaging sessions
- Run behavioral assays (e.g., reward, aversive stimuli)
- Perform data collection in support of the postdoctoral scholar and principal investigator
- Maintain mouse colonies
- Manage lab supplies
- Contribute to progress reports for the NIH subaward
- Participate in scientific conferences and seminars
- Attend weekly lab meetings, journal club presentations, and external speaker presentations
- Participate in workshops to develop career goals
- Mentor undergraduate student assistants and participate in public outreach activities
Qualifications
- Research Technician: Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, bioengineering, or a related life-science field. Prior laboratory or animal-handling experience preferred; familiarity with behavioral paradigms or imaging is a plus but not required. Strong quantitative/data-analysis skills are helpful.
