Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related scientific field is required.

Job Description

Performs routine procedures and experiments to address research questions under the guidance of senior research technicians, research laboratory managers, and principal investigators. Prepares culture media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions. Compiles and documents experimental results. Confers with principal investigators to review work assignments and plans for research experiments, make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques as required. Reviews laboratory methods, manuals, and/or scientific literature to perform and troubleshoot research techniques or experiments. Sets up instruments, materials, and apparatus and operates laboratory equipment required for specific experiments. Cleans and properly maintains laboratory equipment. Offers suggestions for purchasing necessary equipment when appropriate. Maintains sufficient inventory of appropriate materials, supplies, and equipment required for laboratory operations.
