About the role
This role is an integral part of Latham’s Research Services team, responsible for providing legal and non-legal research and analysis to attorneys and business services staff using a variety of research tools. The position is located in our Houston office and may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and non-legal research utilizing electronic and print research tools; synthesize and analyze results for relevancy and responsiveness to specific research requests.
- Monitor business, industry, and legal news sources for developments regarding clients, industries, and practice areas; utilize aggregator platforms to assemble relevant results for distribution to attorneys and business services staff.
- Promote awareness and assist with training on research platforms.
- Assist with library operational functions.
- Promote effective work practices, work as a team member, and show respect for co-workers.
- Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information retained by Latham & Watkins.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team player within the department and the firm.
- Ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a research or legal environment.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a Master’s degree or J.D. is preferred.

Pay
USD $90,000.00 – USD $105,000.00 per year, with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
