Entry-level administrative support for a research project focused on community health and salon workers. Responsibilities include community outreach, data collection, sample collection, laboratory work, and field work within a 30- to 40-mile radius of Baltimore City.
Responsibilities
- Assist with collection and organization of data per study requirements, including participant interviews, administering questionnaires, and conducting background research.
- Set up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes.
- Enter data into the database and run routine queries.
- Perform basic literature searches.
- Assist with recruitment efforts for ongoing studies by reaching out to hair salon workers and salon owners, sharing information, answering questions, and recruiting participants through various outreach strategies (e.g., attending events, visiting salons).
- Support the organization and coordination of virtual and in-person events for Maryland salon workers as part of research studies and the Salon Wellness Coalition.
- Drive to field sites in Baltimore and surrounding areas (30-40 mile radius) and participate in events for hairdressers, requiring schedule flexibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of work experience (additional education or related experience may substitute).
- Willingness to drive to field sites within a 30-40 mile radius of Baltimore City.
- Schedule flexibility to visit salons and participate in events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
- Bilingual (reading/speaking) in Spanish.

Pay
